BW is a fit out and refurbishment expert delivering workplaces with a personal touch. They pride themselves on high-quality work, a team of friendly people and minimal impact on the environment.

To be chosen by a leading workplace company is always a privilege, as this is a team that offers the very best in office design. Style was therefore delighted to be chosen to deliver flexible space at BW’s offices at 5 Old Bailey, London.

Working directly with BW and architects, KKS, the aim was to enable the main meeting room to be divided into two, or opened up and used as one large area.

Acoustics, ease of use, sustainability and a sense of panache to complement the stunning interior design of their offices were paramount and the final solution didn’t disappoint.

DORMA Variflex was chosen. This is a superb semi-automatic operable wall system with 55dB Rw acoustics, giving very high levels of privacy either side of the wall when in place. It also has panels that are manufactured separate to the frame. This means they are interchangeable and can be easily swapped if the design of the room changes, or if a panel is accidentally scuffed or damaged. On this occasion, a stunning grey and white fabric finish was added creating a breathtaking look.

“DORMA Variflex is a hugely popular moveable partitioning wall,” said Julian Sargent, Style’s group managing director. “It also perfectly matches BW’s requirements in a number of ways.

“As well as delivering flexible space, ease of use and privacy for meetings, it has an environmental product declaration (EPD) in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804

“An EPD communicates the environmental performance of a product, and for each product a life cycle analysis (LCA) is carried out in accordance with ISO 14040.

“This means it meets BW’s commitment to the environment by being a truly sustainable solution.”
