London bank chooses
Style for moveable walls
Rabobank is an international cooperative bank with Dutch origins. For over 125 years collaboration has been at the heart of everything it does and, today, it employs more than 49,000 colleagues across 35 countries.
Working with architect, Sheppard Robson, and contractor, Overbury, Style was specified to create flexible space in the meeting area of Rabobank’s new UK headquarters; a building committed to innovation, wellbeing, and environmental responsibility.
To sub-divide the meeting room, Style installed a Dorma Huppe Variflex moveable wall with semi-automatic operation.
Offering an incredible 59dB Rw acoustic rating, this market leading operable wall ensures concurrent meetings and events can take place either side without noise interference.
The semi-automatic operation also means the acoustic seals apply to the optimum pressure each time the wall is in use.
Its Kvadrat Remix 3 fabric finish perfectly complements the interior design of the meeting area, and thanks to its ease of operation the room can be divided into two individual meeting rooms at a moment’s notice.
The Variflex moveable wall leads the way in sustainability, with its enviable EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) rating. This was a key factor in its specification for an overall fit out that achieved BREEAM outstanding and WELL Platinum.
“We were delighted to have been chosen to deliver flexible meeting space in this pioneering and innovative building,” said Michael Porter, Style’s group managing director.
“The environmental credentials of Rabobank’s headquarters are truly impressive and we are proud to have played our part in delivering a solution that more than met the ‘Green’ requirements.”
An Environmental Product Declaration provides a transparent and credible report on the environmental impacts of a product throughout its entire life cycle. Generated from Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), EPDs offer data on a material's resource use, emissions, and waste, enabling sustainable design, procurement, and the calculation of Whole Life Carbon Assessments (WLCAs) for buildings.
