Moveable walls cater for challenging room shapes and sizes

2015-06-29

Architects, specifiers, contractors and interior designers working with challenging room designs are being encouraged to talk to Style about their projects.

According to Mike Fine, Style’s director for the Midlands, flexible space can be created through the installation of a moveable partitioning wall even when the room configuration is difficult.

“If a room is unconventional in its shape, ceiling height, age or even if its furnishings appear to restrict the ability to include an operable wall, it is always worth talking to us because there will be a solution,” said Mike.

“We have some great examples where our highly skilled team have developed ingenious systems to some very challenging problems, including curved moveable walls, ones that cater for stepped amphitheatres, walls that have a thin path of travel and can be opened or closed within the tightest of gaps, very high ceilings, ones where the stacking area needs to be housed away from the room the wall is used in, and we have an example of a wall that provided an interface with a sloping Mansard roof.

“The advice is therefor quite clear. Talk to us and tap into our advice, because as exclusive UK partners to DORMA, Skyfold and SWG, we have access to an extensive range of moveable wall solutions.

“We also have the very best technicians and designers who have a track record of developing imaginative bespoke partitioning walls for clients in circumstances when it had been doubted whether a solution was possible.”

Style recently announced that it had become the first UK supplier of moveable walls to be able to offer comprehensive BIM files for key elements of their range of partitioning wall systems, adding even further advancements to its design capabilities. Delivering more than just downloadable 3D objects in different graphical formats, the DORMA Hüppe BIM tool provides Style’s customers with up-to-date, reliable and precise product data for the planning, construction and management of buildings.
