Panache and Practicality in Deloitte’s Meeting Rooms
Deloitte is the brand under which tens of thousands of dedicated professionals in independent firms throughout the world collaborate to provide audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk management, and tax services to selected clients.
At its offices in Reading, the conference and boardroom areas are used for a multitude of purposes - from very large forums and presentations to smaller, more intimate meetings.
Working with main contractor, ISG Plc, and MCM Architecture, Style was specified to create a flexible arrangement so that the meeting rooms could be configured for multiple, concurrent use - or opened up for larger gatherings.
With a sense of panache being important, as well as simplicity of operation, Skyfold was chosen; a total of four of these unique vertically rising, fully automatic acoustic partitioning walls being installed.
With privacy being essential when meetings are being conducted either side of the closed wall, Skyfold’s Rw 51dB rating was as important as its ability to maximise floor space and its capability to be opened and closed quickly and easily through a turnkey solution.
“Skyfold is incredibly popular in the corporate sector,” said Julian Sargent, Style’s managing director, “because as well as being extremely effective in sub-dividing space it also enhances a room with a real ‘wow’ factor.”
“When not in use, the wall is completely undetectable in the room because it is housed in the ceiling cavity. And because it opens and closes so effortlessly and silently it can glide into position without causing any disturbance or disruption at all.
“It’s also perfect for tiered auditoriums and lecture halls because it is able to cope with steps, which horizontally sliding partitioning walls are not designed for.”
Style is the sole UK supplier for Skyfold, with installations spanning corporate, education, hospitality and public sector.
