Style Achieves IMS Accreditations

Style has achieved certification of the three ‘gold standards’ demanded by many major contractors and clients as part of an Integrated Management System (IMS).

As a result, The Style Group now holds accreditations for ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System and BS OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health & Safety Management System.

“We’ve been working to these standards for some time,” explained Andy Gibson, Style’s Director for the North, “which was why we decided to make a formal application for accreditation. “IMS is an all-encompassing process that interrogates and audits our systems and procedures to ensure unification and compliance.
“As well as acting as an inspection process, it therefore also added a great deal of value to our business by enabling us to identify areas for further improvement. As robust processes and strong working practices ultimately benefit the architects, specifiers, main contractors and clients who we work with, we believe that achieving these accreditations is an important achievement and will further support our reputation as a very high quality specialist in the operable walls sector.”

Running the Marathon for Teenage Cancer Trust

Efrem Brynin, Style’s Skyfold Product Manager laced up his running shoes last weekend to run his first ever marathon on behalf of the Teenage Cancer Trust. The charity exists to improve the quality of life and chances of survival for young people with cancer, and Efrem ran in the Brighton Marathon to raise money for this important cause.

“This is the first time I have ever attempted to run any distance, so the thought of running 26.2 miles was a little daunting,” said Efrem. “However I decided to take on the challenge of the Brighton Marathon to support the sterling efforts of Teenage Cancer Trust. Every day six young people in the UK are diagnosed with cancer. TCT provides units and support directly for these young people ensuring that they are not placed on children’s or elderly wards.”

High Standards in the Corporate Sector Give Style the Winning Edge

For most major firms, their offices are a vital extension of their brand. The experience created for visitors and clients is an essential aspect of their whole proposition, and for major global organisations, in the most prestigious venues, there has to be a perfect blend of flexibility, comfort, functionality, acoustics and design.

As a result Style has seen a marked increase in its city centre movable wall installations in recent years, due to its extensive high quality product range which spans DORMA, Skyfold and SWG, complemented by Style’s outstanding reputation for the very highest standards of installation, customer care, advice and support.

“It is a huge endorsement of the quality of our products and people that when architects and interior designers demand more innovation, better products, more stylish results and when they cannot risk the project going wrong in any shape of form, they turn to us,” said Julian Sargent, Style’s Group Managing Director.
“Because when you are dealing with the very largest organisations in prime locations, you are also dealing with the contractors, specifiers and designers’ key clients – and for these projects they need the best.
“Creating the right working environment and image for boardrooms, client dining areas, training rooms and auditoriums is also now far more demanding than it has ever been. Making a great impression is a key ingredient of gaining competitive edge – particularly in the financial, insurance and consultancy markets.”

Style has recently undertaken a broad cross section of projects with some of the biggest brands in the world, and its portfolio in City Centre locations continues to grow.

“When working with companies such as PwC, Pinsent Mason, Moody’s, Lockton Insurance and Henderson Global Investors you are expected to deliver the very best in the market place,” concluded Julian, “and by continuing to be earmarked for these prime installations means we are leading the way in every aspect of our product and service proposition.”

Offering the Perfect Finish

In the movable partitioning walls sector, demand is growing for far more choice in the quality of the ‘finish’.

And with an extensive product range spanning DORMA, SWG and Skyfold, Style excels in this area offering a wide range of colours, textures and finishes that create an outstanding end result across a multitude of market sectors.

“There is no doubt that expectations are rising all the time,” said Mike Fine, Style’s Director for the Midlands. “In the corporate environment, the aesthetic appeal of boardrooms, conference centres, training facilities and other meeting areas is a reflection of a company’s overall image.

“In the hotel sector, the complete look of a partitioning wall is equally important as its flexibility and ease of operation. It becomes a showcase piece. “And in schools, colleges and other public facilities, the style has to reflect the environment its in.”

Recent installations by Style have included a stretched textile finish, a carved panel effect, and partitions coated as white boards so that the entire wall could be used for training notes.
“As a firm that takes pride in the quality of product, installation, operation and finish, this has become a very important aspect of our approach,” said Mike. “Architects, specifiers and commercial interior designers often come up with great ideas or turn to us for something different, and I’m delighted to say that we have always been able to keep ahead of our sector in this area.”
