Flexible Training Space at The Land Rover Experience
At The Land Rover Experience centre’s new base in Broughton Hall Estate near Skipton, comprehensive tuition is given over a range of challenging surfaces on a 3000 acre estate.
In its conferencing, training and briefing centre Style worked with the client, Dalesway Yorkshire, to enable the Land Rover Experience team to divide their room into two, or use it as one large open plan space.
As this is a character building with a high ceiling and stone walls, Style chose DORMA Variflex - a moveable partitioning wall system with a high level of flexibility, ideal for complicated room proportions. Offering acoustic moveable walls up to 14.5m high, Variflex also offers the advantage of panels that are manufactured separately to the frame, which means they are easy to change if one is damaged or scuffed, or the interior design of a room changes later on.
“This is a stunning room, with a curved roof, large beams and exposed walls,” said Andy Gibson, Style’s director for the North.
“Whilst being appealing to the eye, this made it a challenge to work with as it was important to deliver a stylish solution in keeping with the building, the vehicles on display and the clientele, but also provide privacy through strong acoustics.
“To achieve this, Dalesway Yorkshire filled the gaps between the beams with glass, and we then installed the moveable partitioning wall within a surrounding frame to minimise sound flanking.
“We also installed two separate lockable pass doors so that the rooms can be accessed with ease when the wall is closed, and maintain a good level of security.”
A clean white laminate finish enabled The Land Rover Experience to add their own creative graphics and logo, making the final solution both stylish and practical.
