Fully Automatic Moveable Glazed Wall at Global Investment Firm
Winton Capital Management is a British investment management firm managing over $30billion of assets for many of the world’s largest pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, banks and fund platforms. The company employs more than 450 people in offices around the globe.
At its London office in Hammersmith, Style worked with contractor, Control Group UK, to provide two fully automatic, glass moveable walls to create private meeting rooms off an open plan area.
A DORMA Moveo Double Glazed system was agreed as the best solution, a high-end operable wall with 50dB acoustics providing outstanding defence against outside noise in the, often busy, open plan area.
Whilst the spaces are quite narrow, only requiring a 2 panel solution, the ease by which the walls open and close is thanks to their automation, each wall being operated by the simple push of a button.
As a glazed solution, when in place the room retains a feeling of openness, with plenty of natural light, and thanks to its environmental product declaration (EPD) in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804, this is a highly sustainable partition as well as being a stylish and practical one.
“Automatic moveable partitioning walls are growing very quickly in popularity,” said Julian Sargent, Style’s group managing director, “and I can see them becoming the norm in the not-too-distant future.
“For companies such as Winton Capital, their offices and meeting rooms are a real showcase for client visits. A fully automatic wall adds a sense of theatre and panache when it glides effortlessly into place and, for those in the meeting room, you feel the outside noise disappear and turn into virtual silence as the automatic seals move into place.”
